CGSHE Clinician Scientist Meaghan Thumath was recognized in The Georgia Straight for her leadership in COVID-19 response with marginalized communities.

Meaghan Thumath (she/her), a CGSHE Clinician Scientist and UBC Adjunct Faculty, is a long-time public health and sexual health nurse. Drawing on her roots in rapid public health responses in humanitarian settings and the Ebola crisis in DRC, Meaghan goes back to her roots as a street nurse in Vancouver’s DTES to support the community in the impact of COVID-19. Meaghan brings a decade of public health nursing experience and has been advising VCH in COVID-19 response in the DTES, including recently released guidelines by the Ministry.
