Policy

CGSHE provides leadership in evidence-based policy on gender equity and sexual health with marginalized communities in BC, Canada and globally.  We aim to mobilize evidence by regularly providing policy briefs, reports, and academic open letters to federal, provincial and local leaders, and international non-governmental bodies (e.g. UNAIDS, Global Commission on HIV and the Law, WHO, Amnesty International).

CGSHE has played key roles on policy and practice guidelines, including the following international, national, and local guidelines committees:

UNAIDS/NSWP expert consultations on HIV & sex work
BC Ministry Renewed Women’s Health Strategy – Women & GBV Reference Group
City of Vancouver Gender Equity Advisory
Global Commission on HIV and the Law – Recommendations
CTN National Trans Advisory Committee
Transcare BC Advisory Committee
WHO Department of Reproductive Health – Violence & HIV guidelines
National Roundtable on Gender-Based Violence
